Seniors Annual Trophies & Rules

Seniors' Committee is responsible for the preparation and conduct of annual  competitions

Including;

Setting the entrance fee and eligibility for annual competitions,

arranging random draws for starting lists considering buggy sharing,

rearranging annual competitions affected due to inclement weather.

Monte Duck Trophy

The Monte Duck Trophy will be played over 18 holes of individual medal play, from the White Tees using players’ full current handicap allowance during the month of June and incorporating the June Monthly Medal. The winner being the individual player with the lowest nett score after completing all 18 holes. In the event of a tie the R&A countback system will be used to decide the winner. This will be a qualifying round for handicap purposes. 

Birch Ward Trophy

The Birch Ward Trophy will be played over 18 holes of individual Stableford play from the White Tees using full current handicap allowance during the month of June. The winner will be the individual player with the highest number of Stableford points after completing all 18 holes. In the event of a tie the R&A countback system will be used to decide the winner. This will be a qualifying round for handicap purposes. 

Scratch Cup &       Handicap Sheild

The Scratch Cup and the Handicap Shield will be played consecutively over 18 holes from the White Tees. The Scratch Cup winner will be the player scoring the lowest gross score over 18 holes. The Handicap Cup winner will be the player with the lowest nett score after handicap allowance over 18 holes. It is permissable for both trophies to be won by the same player. In the event of a tie the R&A countback system will be used to decide the winner. This will be a qualifying event for handicap purposes.

Jim Cook Trophy

The Jim Cook Trophy will be played over 18 holes of individual Stableford event from the Yellow Tees using full current handicap allowance. The Jim Cook Trophy winner will be the player with the highest number of Stableford points on completion of 18 holes.  In the event of a tie the R&A countback system will be used to decide the winner. This will be a qualifying event for handicap purposes.

Seniors Annual Championship

The Seniors Annual Championship consists of 36 holes of competition. Firstly,18 of medal play from the White Tees and then the following week 18 holes of Stableford play from the Yellow Tees both using full handicap allowance. The winner is decided by using the net score from the medal play and taling away the stableford score, the lowest combined score is the winner. Trophies are awarded for all 3 elements.
