<< New text box >>Looe Ladies held their annual Gala Open Day on Tuesday, 6 May. Twenty teams of three entered a Texas Scramble. This included six member teams, four members with visitors from neighbouring clubs and ten teams of visitors, including one all the way from Isle of Wedmore Club in Somerset. Thanks to our wonderful greenkeepers the course was in fabulous condition and looked wonderful on a glorious Spring day. The players enjoyed refreshments on the 10th hole, kindly provided by the lovely bakers in the ladies’ section. Our thanks go to everyone who played, all the ladies that baked and helped to serve the food on the day, the ladies on the sign-in table and the gentlemen who kindly helped as a Starter and with ball spotting on various “tricky” holes and helped with the results. Plus the staff who were always on hand to help and serve drinks and food after the competition. We look forward to welcoming you all again at next year’s Gala Day. The prizes went to five teams, the winners being Frances Ryan, Meriel Hepburn and Bev Britton from Staddon Heights with 60 points (shown below), in 2nd place were Looe ladies, Shirley Nicholls, Pat Hodge and Jill Westbrook with 61 points, 3rd place were Looe’s Corinne Lamoureux with her guests from Lanhydrock Debbie Pascoe ad Judy Craig, in 4th place, Karen Daubney, Angie Chapman and Nita Dervish-Uman and in 5th place were Bev Sullivan, Annette Ewings and Sammi Harris from Porthpean.
